3. What is ransomware? Which of the 10 computer ethics commandments is/are violated by ransomware?

Ransomware is computer malware which holds a computer system, or the data it contains, hostage against its user by demanding a ransom for its restoration. It violated within this 10 computer ethics commandments, they are:

a. Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people.
b. Thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work.
c. Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's files.
d. Thou shalt not use a computer to steal.

2. Suppose you are to add 2 more commandments to the existing 10 commandments of computer ethics, what are these? Are these 2 new commandments of equal importance to the existing ones? Discuss.

    a. Thou shalt not use computer to harm environments and animals.
It is an addition to the number 1 ethics. The environment is clearly harmed by the production and use of computers, and by the disposal of waste computers.

      b. Thou shalt not use computer for fraud.
It is similar to number 1 ethics but much more intentional. It is against the law because it harms very much to the people especially in trade business online.

1. If you are to choose your top 3 difficult-to-follow computer ethics commandments, what are these? Explain why.

First, is the # 3 “Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's files.” Sometimes I have this curious feeling what they’ve got in their computer files. Just like if they have new movies which I can copy. But still I have to say something to the owner that I want to copy his/her movies.

Second, is the # 6 “Thou shalt not use or copy software for which you have not paid.” Because I am a student right now and don’t have income for myself, I’ll always copy the licensed software from my classmates and instructors who have the available software. But they were also free open source software that can be copy and it is very useful for me because I can utilize my ethical manner.

Third, is the # 10 “Thou shalt use a computer in ways that show consideration and respect.” Computers are powerful tools that can and will be used to share knowledge with the global community. By using this tool, it’s temporary for me to do and show consideration and respect to the people or to my followers and to update my social activities.

2. For some, happiness relies on money. In some cases, hacking means money. Would you do hacking it if its outcome is a sure happiness of your family? What particular Aristotle theory contradicts this concept? Discuss.

For some, happiness relies on money. Everybody says that money is everything because without money you cannot live. But I cannot do hacking to be able to get some money. Its not my happiness after all because in my mind, it is bad, an evil act and I am very pretty sure that it is not the happiness for  my family. I am Christian and it is not the well of God. There are lots of money-making. The life of money-making is one undertaken under compulsion, and wealth is evidently not the good we are seeking.
In Aristotle theory, "Happiness is not pleasure nor is it virtue. It is exercise of virtue.", money is pleasure because you can buy what you want and need but you cannot buy goodness. As I said earlier, goodness can be trained to person's being. And virtue or goodness is happiness.

1. # How often do you make an effort to practice your strengths and virtues? (A virtue is a trait you cultivate. Ex: patience, generosity kindness). Are these traits key to a happy life? Discuss.

My first practice is to love God. My spiritual life is quite simply my relationship with God. In my efforts to grow in love with God I cannot ignore are the love for my family, love for my relatives, love for my friends, love for my neighbor, love for my enemies and love for those I live with and around.
What do I need is GOODNESS which able to know or choose the right rule. Because goodness can be trained to person's being. According to Aristotle says that when we train in things like endurance, self-mastery and fair dealing, it becomes pleasing to us to practice these things on a continual basis. Through repetition of morally correct acts, we acquire the right kind of character. And yes, it was a key to a happy life. Have a good character achieves all the virtues want to be and give us strenght to live.
